This recycled silk yarn is made of all remnant fibers from the industrial weaving mills in India. These fibers are collected and hand spun in Nepal. These remnants can be either in the form of mill end yarns or fabrics. When looking at this yarn you can see the infinite variety of colors that are found in the Indian Saris.

The company in Nepal responsible for making the yarn is a small family owned Tibetan business, hence the name "Tibet" on the yarn. All the work involved in making this yarn is cottage industry, each spinner works independently and therefore you will not find 2 skeins alike.

When working with your recycled multicolored yarn we recommend that you mix the skeins as you go along. In other words, iknit a couple of rows with one skein, then switch to another skein and knit a couple of rows etc. that way you get the most even color distribution.

If you encounter some hard spun yarn, the easiest way to take some of the spin out of it is to pull out a long string of yarn from your ball, tie a rubber band around the ball and holding on to the end of the string let the ball fall and un-spin itself.

We do recommend dry-cleaning, but you can wash the recycled silk yarn by hand in cold water, dry flat. Be careful not to stretch while wet. The fibers used in the multicolored yarn have been industrially dyed and are color fast.
